Personality: struggles to follow orders, she's very independent, likes to read in her free time, wants to see what the world outside the walls is like, doesn't really open up to people unless she gets to know them

Background: Her family is made up of her mother, father, and younger brother. Her father goes and helps with the exports while her mother teaches her brother about basic knowledge and society. Maria had heard about the nature of titans, though she had never encountered one. She has heard many stories and fables about them and she believes that their destructive power is absolute. She joins the military in order to protect her family and to continue letting them live a peaceful and happy life. She hopes to be able to step outside of the walls, but until then, she'll continue to read about the world in her books.

RP Sample: As the official walked back in forth between the rows of trainees, she kept hoping to herself that he wouldn't come and demand anything out of her. The sweat from her brow had caused her glasses to slowly slide down the bridge of her nose until it felt like it was going to fall off. Maria was very tempted to push them back up in a more comfortable place so that she could be at ease, but instead she told herself, No, I must keep my posture. She continued to stare straight forward, looking at the back of another trainee's head. I really wish the officials would let us read while they stared us down.
